One to One talking therapy for adults

Long term (open ended) or short term therapy.
There are many reasons why you may choose to come to therapy. It might be that you are feeling anxious, depressed, struggling with irrational and persistent thoughts, feeling overwhelmed by everything, or in fact, underwhelmed and dissatisfied. You might be struggling to process a traumatic experience or memory, or finding it difficult to process alone. Or suffering from a significant loss of a loved one and need a space to feel held.
Whatever the reason that brings you to therapy, I work in a client centred way, this means that I do not set an agenda, rather, I am led by you as the client. My aim is to provide a space where you can feel truly listened to, enabling me to gain a sense of your experiences, and to provide a safe and non-judgemental space, where you can talk freely and explore what is on your mind.
I am integratively trained, which means I draw upon existential, humanistic and psychoanalytic theory and practice. This enables me to work flexibly and individually with each client. By exploring the past, discovering the present moment and realising what is happening in the 'here-and-now' within the therapeutic space, can often provide clarity on who we are and what brings us meaning.
The way in which we relate to others and the world around us is an integral part to understanding who we are. By exploring this in therapy, it can bring new understanding or awareness to certain behaviours, thoughts or feelings that we have.
Therapy sessions can be on a long term (open ended) basis; this is where there is no ending decided when you begin therapy, it is ongoing for as long as you think you need. Or, a short term basis (for example: 6, 12 or 18 weeks), where the ending will be decided at the start of therapy.
